The driving trade association in the fitness industry is the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), and IHRSA currently recommends the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation to all of its membership of health club owners and personal trainer employers. NO other certification accreditation is currently considered by IHRSA as an equivalent to NCCA.

1. You should narrow your search down to the 8 programs that are NCCA accredited to include NFPT. There are over 300 programs available that are NOT NCCA accredited.
