Additional Infromation

If you're attending college, or thinking about it, but you want to start working as a personal trainer now or in the near future, consider a certification that provides you with college credit upon successful completion. You can use your CPT certification towards 3 college credit hours. NFPT has been approved by the American Council on Education (ACE - CREDIT) as a 3 college credit hour recommendation for all NFPT certified trainers at participating colleges across the country. NFPT maintains a list of eligible ACE -CREDIT Colleges, for your convenience.

After locating a school near you that accepts the ACE - CREDIT recommendation, order your transcript from ACE - CREDIT. ACE - CREDIT will verify your certification with the NFPT and will then mail you the final approved transcript to provide to your counselor for credit.

Face to Face Classroom Training
The NFPT's personal trainer certification prep course is also offered on many college campuses across the country. This face-to-face learning environment allows for thorough instruction through fundamental exercise science concepts in a structured classroom setting. The certification fee may vary and is set at the discretion of the college. Search the list of participating colleges to locate a location near you.

Distance Learning
If no college near you offers the NFPT preparation course, a Distance Learning option is also available. The Distance Learning option provides an online structure with a guided step-by-step approach to studying at your convenience.
