Exam Process

NFPT's intention is to maintain strict standards for test security and delivery while allowing for the most convenient and affordable test methods possible. With over 300 available locations to choose from, there's little to no travel or related expense. You'll set your own test date by making an appointment at the test site nearest you.

When will I receive my results?

Upon completion of the NFPT examination, your proctor will return your paper/pencil exam for grading and processing OR you will receive your test score instantly if you have taken a computer based exam. Within approximately 3 weeks of your successful exam completion date, you will receive a detailed score report that provides information regarding your performance in each of the 6 exam categories. You will be provided a professional certificate for framing as well as a wallet sized membership card. (This information will be provided within 1-2 weeks when computer based testing.)

Re-Testing
The NFPT allows for any test candidate who has failed the examination the option to re-test (a re-test may only be taken twice.)

The NFPT will provide a score report that lists the highest and lowest ranking scores which will be an indication of the categories that will need to be reviewed before re-testing. The NFPT administrative re-test fee is $60 in addition to the exam fee of either $20 (paper/pencil) or $44 (CBT).
