RJ SPOTLIGHTMeet Ramon Noriz, better known as R.J. He is 23 years old and from a small town in Arizona called Eloy. After graduating from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School, he attended some college at Central Arizona College. While he still plans on finishing his Associates of Science degree and go on to pursue his Bachelors in either Kinesiology or Exercise Science, R.J. is currently busy working as a personal trainer after recently becoming an NFPT-CPT.

R.J. has shared a very honest and authentic beginning that many will relate to, but not enough people discuss. Please read on if you want to feel inspired!

How long have you been certified with NFPT?

I have been certified with NFPT for just three months, since August 27th, 2021.

Why did you choose NFPT?

I chose NFPT because an affordable opportunity opened up for me at a local gym where the general manager offered me a training position there (Esporta Fitness).

Why did you decide to become a personal trainer?

RJ1

I decided to become a fitness professional because at one point in my life I found myself with a lot of insecurities and was frequently talking down on myself. I never had someone to lead me in the direction to overcome those issues within myself. When I finally decided enough was enough, I started my fitness journey and fell in love with the results–not just the physical results, but I noticed my mentality starting to change. I was no longer talking myself down or bringing myself down. Every day I was thinking positive thoughts and just became this uplifting, positive person. I tell you–nothing is more rewarding than noticing your hard work has paid off. I believe becoming a personal trainer was my purpose. I love to help others, I love to inspire and motivate, I love changing li
ves and helping my clientele reach their goals.

What has been your biggest challenge as a personal trainer?

The biggest challenge for me as a personal trainer would be those start-early-wor
k-all-day type of workdays, starting as early as 4:30 a.m. and not getting home and in bed until about 11:00 p.m. But I believe it’s part of the process of breaking into the fitness industry and being successful. I gotta continue these early mornings/late nights until I achieve the level of success I hope to achieve.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in the fitness industry?

My biggest accomplishment in the fitness industry so far would most definitely be making my own brand and starting my own small business “B4everfit”. B4everfit is what I based my life on after seeing the physical and mental changes I’ve gone through, as mentioned above. To B4everfit is what I will always strive to be and I promised myself ill never go back to my old ways. In starting this business my intentions were to inspire and motivate others in living the B4everfit lifestyle.

What has been your most rewarding experience as a personal trainer?

My most rewarding experience as a personal trainer would be the many opportunities I’ve had to work with different types of clientele–all ages, from 8 years old to about 70 years old, ranging from beginners, general clients and athletes. I have enjoyed a high success rate with all of them when it came to getting the results they wanted to see.

How has the impact of COVID-19 and its restrictions affected your fitness business?

Covid has impacted my fitness practice in both a positive and negative way. It helped me become more creative in routine building, opened my eyes to other places and environments where a workout can take place (which could literally be anywhere!), and helped me discover different sources on how to deliver a workout to my clients. The negative impact it had was not being able to have much 1-on-1 in-person time with my clientele like I would prefer

What role does social media play in the success of your business?

Social media plays a big role in my fitness business helping me get most of my clientele and being able to show others that I’m truly about the lifestyle through the content I post.

Any advice for people thinking about a career in fitness?

A piece of advice I can give others thinking about a career in fitness would be to simply be yourself; first impressions are important….and be creative!

What does the future hold for you in the fitness industry?

The future holds something big for me in the fitness industry. I don’t know what it is yet but I know it’s gonna be a success. I’m truly blessed to have started my own business and praying for continued growth.
