Congratulations on pursuing the NFPT-CPT certification. As you may know, in order to ensure the currency and job-relatedness of the CPT examination, the NFPT performs periodic updates to the CPT examination program. As part of these updates, new examinations are being developed, and in order to establish fair and reasonable minimum passing scores, a standard setting research project is being undertaken. This is best practice in examination development, and requires that we collect candidate examination results and comments before we establish the minimum passing score.
Therefore between the dates of January 1 and February 16, 2017, candidates will not receive a pass/fail letter at the testing site. Instead a score notification will be transmitted on or before February 16, 2017. If circumstances allow NFPT to undertake this research project prior to February 16th, we will certainly do so.
We understand that this may cause you an inconvenience, and we apologize for the delay that you will experience receiving your score. However, we hope for your understanding in that your examination is part of a robust standard setting process which absolutely requires this delay.
NOTE: NFPT will not be able to release exam scores, even by request, until this study has been conducted and a fair and reasonable minimum passing score established.
We thank you in advance for your understanding while we undertake this very important project.
