The Importance of Facebook for Personal Trainers

If you’re like a lot of people, you’re on Facebook. And if you’re like a lot of people, you don’t use it to its fullest potential for your business. With the proper use of Facebook, it can be a wicked weapon in your social media arsenal. There are so many questions when it comes to Facebook. One of the most popular is, “Why should I care [about Facebook]?” Let me give you a small taste of that answer.

Facebook reached over 900 million users this past April. That’s one in every nine people on Earth who are in one place. Over 160 million of those are US residents. The largest demographics are ages 18-44. You may be thinking, “Well how many of those people are actually active users?” Those users spend 700 billion minutes each month reading statuses, posting pictures and visiting fan pages. That is a lot of activity! And it’s not slowing down.

  • You should care because your customers and clients are using Facebook.
  • You should care because 93% of people expect companies to have a social media presence.
  • You should care because your competition is already using it.
  • You should care because it will help attract links and traffic to your website, generating you more customers. Don’t have a website? Check out our blog post about getting started.

“What if I already have a Facebook page? What should I be doing on it?”

That is what is going to matter most. Facebook is about people talking to people. If you’re not talking to your audiences, someone else will. And that is exactly what we are going to tackle next Monday! Make sure to check us out and “Like” us on Facebook.
