This is a truly amazing story. India’s first Mr. Universe recently turned 100-years-old. This great-grandfather teaches us so much on how we should strive to live as personal trainers and, more importantly, as human beings! Whatever we do, whatever happens in our lives – stay positive.
Mr. Manohar Aich’s simple life – “a life without tensions” as he calls it, plays a big role in longevity. Stress is a silent contributor to many illnesses that grow out of an insurmountable compilation of social and emotional stresses.
Mr. Aich is a prime example of someone who has taken care of himself through the avoidance of stress and the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.

The bodybuilding accomplishments are obvious contributors to his remarkable story, but they do not sum up his life. There are several other remarkable testimonies, equally compelling, such as the life story and physical achievements of Jack LaLanne, who died at the age of 96. (He also addressed the issue of “chronic worrying.”)
Pointing out another praiseworthy fitness guru is not meant to diminish Mr. Aich individual accomplishments as he is a rare genetic specimen. But, rather to shed light on the potential of the human spirit to harness and drive the physical being beyond what is today considered possible.
While we are not all born with the genetic potential to accomplish the “perfect” figure and measurements – to think otherwise is foolish and self-destructive. But, once in a great while the impossible is realized.
If super-human performance were within the grasps of everyone who simply put in some effort and had some motivation, these genetic successes would be around every street corner. The rarity of these accomplishments speaks volumes to the harnessed genetics possessed and exercised by these extraordinary few.
I have been around some of the top athletes in the world and most fall short when compared to the very few who have accidently combined their genetic attributes with the motivation to harness their gifts.
Know who you are. Be who you are – to the fullest!
Live long and prosper!
